18th February 2016 - Lowick for Grizedale

Charlie, Joel, George, Grant, Phil, Andrew, Jamie and CT turned out and met near the red Lion in Lowick. Head the usual way east and north up the lane to get to the tarmac warm up past low nibthwaite. Then the downhill run to ickenthwaite, left down the lanes and left again for the short cut bridleway to get to the Satterthwaite climb into the forest, through the technical bit ;) up the walk bit and onto the NF trail then round and about to Parkamoor and the great descent to High Nibthwaite, although along the way JPB managed to fall into a large puddle and fall off some board walk, admittedly there was some frost lying around. Whilst finishing the last downhill it started to rain/sleet so head back to the cars after a grand ride out.
Next ride Troutbeck for Robin lane

11th February 2016 - Milnthorpe for Farleton

A few met up in Milnthorpe, Charlie, Joel, Neil, Phil and CT, we rode out and met Jamie and George near the fell, then off up the bridleway. We looked for a quad track up onto the fell, but came back down and headed along the usual bw, then left over the rocks to the top point. We was 3 other mtbers on the way up and whilst waiting for JP to sort his BB out we say a load of lights in the distance...the indians are coming... so lets get a move on. JP headed back and we went on to the view point, then down to the step over point for the last descent, at this point the other group caught us up, they were about 15 in number and came from the east (A65 to be precise). They all headed down and it looked a sight, their lights, our lights nearly daylight! Off down the last bit and we met JP at the bottom, then headed off home.
Next ride Lowick, by Red Lion

4th February 2016 - High Cross, Hawkshead Hill for Grizedale

5 made it out, Charlie, Jamie M, George, Jamie B and CT, a little damp but OK for MTBing around...the others must have been either doing fat bike research in sunnier climbs or researching the rugby form:) So we headed into the forest, left at the first turn and onto the NF trail, first board walk a bit damp and it was very fine misty rain = fog so headlights making it worse, especially Charlies new 2nd hand Hope not sure if fully charged or a connection issue, kept turning off! Down the NF to the visitor center, rest under cover outside shop (no coffee ;(   then onwards and upwards for more NF trail, Jamie was messing about on his CX at the 'tricky corner' apparently tried to fall off and landed on Georges wheel...nice and steady climb up, flapjack to the top rest area:) then onwards on fire road and NF, including a new little section and back to the cars, never really rained hard, just a bit wet! over 11 miles 9.30ish so back home for food.
Next ride Milnthorpe
