29th December 2016 - Clappersgate for Little Langdale

A nice cool evening but not freezing, many folk away or in front of warm stoves for the last Thursday ride of 2016, Jamie, Andrew and CT made it out, we warmed up by going along the road first, then along the Elterwater river route and then uphill, see map below, cross ford, headed for the playground, then up, then down;) along a bit and back. Nice 20km apparently and no Christmas cake consumed!
Next ride from Satterthwaite for Grizedale, let's go look at some statues

15th December 2016 - Ings for a quick ride then a meal

A few folk went for a ride from Ings , George, Jamie M, Grant, Phil, Charlie and a few others (Jamie B, Joel, Malcolm and CT) met up after 8pm for some food at the Watermill, Ings, there was a wee bit of rain, but all was well when we ordered food, a slight wait as there was a Christmas party of 30 odd in the other room, but we got there in the end and worked up at appetite :) The risotto was good but too large for Charlie so the gannet managed to clean up the plate and I'm not talking about Malcolm;) A great meal to end the year.
Next ride Thursday 22nd is from Ambleside, car park opposite Hayes just past Mountain rescue place.

1st December 2016 - High Cross, Hawkshead Hill for Grizedale

5 of us made it out for a dark sky ride on a cool evening but not freezing, George, Jamie, Grant, Phil and CT. Which route you ask, into the forest and lets find out, broadly uphill and tee off right then a little explore into then forest and through the trees and we found our way down to Bank Ground on the east side of Coniston, the worked our way back up to Lawson park, up to the top fire road and left along a bit then right and down the technical route towards the centre (we did not go all the way down). The others shot down while CT took it easy (back brakes need a bleed!) on the fire road turn left and take the reverse route as an early challenge back to the bottom of the NF towards Moor Top end, then we worked out way up and back to High Cross. Thanks to Jamie for yet again producing some tasty cake! we are just rubbish;) Georges jelly babies are also most welcome:)
Next ride Staveley, Barley Bridge , then meal likely 15th December
No ride pictures, but here's a few to brighten up the blog:
