A few of us met up at Barley Bridge, Grant, Joel and CT; Jamie and Neil had cycled over. There were a few other folk around riding bikes up Kentmere area to enjoy the evening. We set off over the bridge and left along the farm track, this gets us up a nice testing climb to start! then up the track and head to Kentmere via Green Quarter as we don't often go that way. At the top gate we passed one of the earlier riders and just managed to get the gate open for her;) Just a regular evening ride until the last blast down through the gates at the bottom of the fell, Joel and CT held the gate open and Jamie blasted down the track, unfortunately the bottom section had running water and this did not help traction and ended up with Jamie hitting the dirt at reasonable force and ended up pretty much upside down, a bit stunned but nothing broken...except skin! Blood was apparent but it does have a job to do, just tricky to clot on the knee when riding, so safest option was to ride back home carefully, meanwhile the other 3, Joel, Neil and Grant headed off into the sunset for more riding... Jamie made it home to patch himself up and just needed a trip to Boots to get a plentiful supply of bandages for his next ride out....
Luckily no pictures of the event or the result;)
Next ride Thursday 28th May = Clappersgate
