23rd February 2012 - Troutbeck

A few of us ventured out in the mist, well actually it was raining when we got there, Charlie, George, Chris M, Grant and CT turned up whilst Jamie and Freddie had turned up earlier and done a reckie ride, they confirmed it was wet rain! Usual ride to start up to the caravans at Limefitt and onto Garburn track, go left and climb up, then right and down Dubbs for a fast blast, until Grant had a puncture...."I knew the tyres were too soft...!" quick fix and onwards, passing 4 other MTBers going the other way. Along the lane, right turn and head back to Garburn track then left for the last section down to the road, watch out for the final rocky section! Re-group at the road, along to the river crossing and up into Troutbeck, the climb here tested CT's bike to the limit and the freehub gave up and so walk and scoot back to the car for an early bath; the others ventured on and presumably rode the circuit around Mirk and Wain lanes stopping for cake at the seat??? Next ride is Haverthwaite.
