11th July 2013 - Satterthwaite

It was a lovely warm evening so no excuse to miss this fantastic ride but that's exactly what happened! Despite waiting until nearly 7pm it was another RADs two man ride, so just Joel (who is beginning to feel like Billy) and Neil headed off for a loop around Grizedale. It was decided to take the route over Breasty Haw which was fast and dry through the tree roots, followed by a steep skittish decent on to the road, then the climb back up to the Fox, down Silurian Way to the Visitor Centre, bridleway up and along the side of the black route then forest road to the bridleway above Coniston, down to Low Parkamoor then the three bridleways down to Satterthwaite. Despite the short journey of approximately 10 miles it seemed a longer ride in the warmth of the evening, and as we arrived back to the cars around 9.45pm it was still 16 degrees.
Thanks to Neil for the military data, I have omitted Neil's heart rate but it's all there if anyone wants to get the complete picture.

Next week: Far Sawrey (Do we want to catch the Ferry? Can we decide on a start location? watch this space...)
