20th August 2015 - Ribblehead for a bit of the Cam High Road

We missed a bit last time we were at Ribblehead in mid-summer, so only a couple of months late and the nights are getting darker so time for lights! Charlie, George, Joel, Grant, Neil, Jamie and CT met up near Ribblehead and wondered which way round to go...Charlie had a good idea to try an alternative view. So we did, head south on B6479, after a mile for so just after a little climb take a left track and under the railway. Someone wondered if there might be a few gates along this route, so we started counting, 3 by the time we went under the railway bridge, so keep heading along this track and find your way to Cam End where it joins the Cam High Road (Dales Way) but don't turn left else it's a quick descent back to the road, but go right and climb a bit higher with the carrot of Charlies cake stop (see recipe) at the top where the Ribble Way joins in from the left (west).

Here we stopped for snacks, it was looking grey, so get lights fixed to the bars (Grant felt left out;) and get ready for the decent to the road, we usually climb this and it's steep so this should be good.....And it was GREAT, fast, jumpy in places if you like and mostly gravity fed, enjoy BIG grins all the way to the road:).
Now cross over and take the last section back over Gayle Moor and lights were needed at the end, then just road back to the cars, where it started to drizzle and so homeward bound.
