6th August 2015 - Elterwater for a trip round Hodge Close

9 turned up on the common, Neil, Joel, George, Grant, Phil, Rory, Jamie, Andrew and CT, we headed off about 6.45pm west and up past the old quarry, up and over the woods and down to the ford, on the way JB broke a chain so we paused while that was fixed, then after the ford go over the bridge and turn right and then try out the testing bits of the climb, always a good challenge;) Down to High Tilberthwate and then keep left heading for Hodge close, but a little detour around the old quarries first then Hodge close, over to Oxenfell and cross the main road to High Arnside, head to Iron Keld but another detour around Tarn Hows, then onto the Iron Keld descent, but a few did not have lights but we were all OK in the end. Down the road and back along the river side path, back 10-ish :) what felt like a hard ride but worth it. Home for food.
