10th May 2012 - Satterthwaite

Joel, Grant, Ian, George, Jamie and CT met up on a damp evening after a drive through some flooded roads, rain was due to stop for early evening (apparently it did in Swiss'land;), so it was drizzly early on. We headed out to Bogle Crag Wood and worked our way up and crossed onto Breasty Haw to head NE, at this point Ian's chain gave up the ghost, lost one pin and a quick link, so he rolled back to the van for an early bath (perhaps he had logs on the fire :) and we continued one man down, heading towards the fox albeit we tried a different route, which ended up being boggy. Over to Moor top down the first NF part then over bridge by the new-ish stepping stones and left onto a track used in the GMBC routes, very nice, now onto the NF route and down to the visitors centre. No rain now but some mist higher up and a tad damp under foot! We worked our way along the edge of the wood to find Moor Lane, this descent was in the last of the light and was fantastic, just follow the water routes and it was great. Home for a dry off and food. Next ride from Sedbergh for Dent ride.
