3rd May 2012 - Lowick - Subberthwaite Common
Jamie, Ian, George, Grant (69er wheels again) John, Joel and CT met up near the Red Lion and headed west on a clear and sunny evening, head out to Tootlebank and over the common south of Blaith Knott, some of us took a detour to explore a second bridleway and we all met back up on the road. Carry on the usual route Spunham Wood, Green Moor Wood, climb up to The Knott and rest, eat some coconut chocolate brownies and head down over The Rock, through the stream and up Woodland Fell, this time we made the right line choice and took the easier climb route making it doable. Once at High Kep enjoy the descent just watch out for the muddy puddles and odd bog hole which will eat your front wheel as CT experienced as he flew over the 'andle bars! Now down to the ford, turn right and transfer back to Tottlebank and back to the pub for a beer and gossip. Next ride is from Satterthwaite.
