23rd March 2017 - Lowick for Grizedale
Apparently there had been talk of sun and the need for sun lotion, in fact we reached the snow line (when I say snow line, I don't actually mean...well there was a little snow, see pics :) Jamie set out for Lowick...but missed;) ...George actually made it and so two of us went for a ride, fairly normal route up past Nibthwaite and over to Ickenthwaite, left and past the new farm building and then take the left short cut heading to Satterthwaite, here George actually cleaned the climb, yes! Then we turned left onto Moor Lane, here we found a pick-up just like Jamie's ! and so sent a text message...we climbed up the track, fairly wet but rideable, at the fire road we carried on climbing, again mostly rideable except for that section that isn't! Keep going, past the snow ;) and when it tops out, pause, we saw lights in the distance, shine our lights that way and send text, message back see you in the pub! We headed down Parkamoor and down to Nibthwaite, not a bad descent, technical in places, just how I like it;) a bit wet with standing water, but overall a good ride out, once past Ian's head to the pub. There were a few other bikers there and JB, so we went in for a beer, the other lads left and we three had the pub fire to ourselves, where JB produced a phone vid of real snow from the other morning:)
