A few of us met up at High Cross, Jamie B, M and Jo, then Grant and Phil, arrived, something about having to go back for lights! The weather is definitely turning autumnal in this part of the world, but some folk still wore T-shirts! Usual mix of bikes, new and old, hardtail fat, plastic full sus and shiney, it don't matter what as long as you come out to ride;) So we headed off into the woods, I needed quite a bit of warming up, but eventually got going. We got to the bus stop above Lawson Park, which now has the tree felled, Jo and Jamie went down the normal route, dry and fast :) the remaining folk went down the felled path which was a tad more technical, i.e. a few tree roots, but all good. Then we continued down to the road at Bank ground which is a great fast descent, albeit in the woods lights were needed for those who didn't eat carrots, admittedly some folk were chasing their shadows;) then along the road 100 yds and right back into the trees, this is a hard climb, then it eases...a bit, at the rest stop we put the world to rights while we waited for proper darkness to arrive and JB produced some experiential MIL cooking, being chocolate covered digestive peanut butter bites...we survived;) Onward and onto bits of the NF trail, Jo had a bit of a mishap with a rock tyre interface and broke a light and added a bruise to her leg, so she headed off for an ice pack early bath, having said that we were not far behind, just adding one extra loop. Nice steady ride, warming up eventually.
Next ride Ings, 6.30 for a ride and 8-ish for a meal.
