8th September 2016 - Ings

Jamie M, Joel, Grant, Phil and CT met up at Ings on a cool evening with showers forecast later. Phil was still on his race bike OK so narrow tyred 3"...i.e. he had his race number proudly displayed (we think he was trying to psych us out ;) The race was Keilder 101 (that's 101 km!) he came 16th in class (i.e. for oldies;) and 40th overall, oh and Matt was there and he did 3rd in class and 12th overall, respect...so how did the girls do...well first they dressed up for the 60 challenge...see pic (thanks SportsSunday!) They also did well top 10th and first girlie pair!!

Back to our ride, So straight up the lane opposite Ings and head to Kentmere via top of 3 rivers, maybe getting feet wet as the river was flowing, avoid 2 rivers and up and down into Kentmere, much descent enjoyment, whilst chatting at the bottom what could we hear, hissing Sid, yes a puncture for Jamie, it took some working out, but a tube was required. Now back via Longhouses, embrace the testing climb, then down HP and back via the road climb and back to Ings. Starting to rain, Grant was up for beers, but Phil needed an early night. At this point JB turned up on his road bike just out for a warm up before the Grizedale 'race'.
